Born in 1984 in a small settlement in Russia called Jukovski, Evgeny Grinko comes across with an interesting musical career. Grinko, who played drums in punk rock bands during his youth years and made his first composition at the age of 16 for the punk band he was a member of, turns to classical music with the decision of genre change.
At the age of 22, the musician, who has an interest in piano and classical music and learned to play the piano at this age, also breaks down the preconceptions about studying the instrument at an advanced age once again. One of the most obvious issues that led Evgeny Grinko to such a radical transformation in his musical style is Joy Division's remake of ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ for an army band. This arrangement is almost a turning point for him.
Another reason he adopted this new style of music, Grinko said of the Tiny Mouse Tales album, “I tried to recreate the atmosphere of some old tales that I was used to hearing from the record."
Evgeny Grinko's most popular composition is Valse , which is also the first video clip song to have a wide fan base. The clip, shot as naturally as possible at the piano with a cigarette in his mouth in an empty field, has close to 23 million views. As for the story of the clip, while experimenting at the piano, the director entered the recording and decided to clip that recording, contrary to what he had planned, Grinko said, until the clip was finished, had to smoke. :)
We can observe traces of the different musical experiences that Grinko acquired in his works and the geography he lived in. The artist's song ' Morning in Pripyat ' describes the city of Pripyat, located in northern Ukraine. Built in the 70s for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the city was evacuated due to the Chernobyl explosion in 1986.
Evgeny Grinko, who has performed numerous concerts in many countries around the world, performs with a large violin, accordion team and drummer in his performances.
