This genre of music emerged in the 80s and became popular again in the 2000s. Originally inspired by punk rock, it is also a mix of Funk, Disco, Reggae and Ska genres. Hair Metal, considered one of the sub-genres of Heavy Metal, is another type of music that was very effective in the 80's. Guitar tones are a little bit harder than hard rock, and the vocals have a high pitched voice that resembles feminine screams. However, apart from the bands of the period, it attracts attention with its fluffy permed hair, excessive makeup and spandex pants. This situation also caused this music type to be called hair metal.
